The Caddo Christmas Classic wrapped up last Tuesday with the host team earning three victories.
The Caddo Hills Junior Indians and Lady Indians each earned victories over their Mount Ida counterparts.
The Junior Lady Indians doubled the efforts of the Junior Lady Lions with a 48-24 win.
Mount Ida held the lead early in the game, but Caddo was able to end the first period with a 15-6 lead. The Junior Lady Indians outscored Mount Ida 19-11 in the second period to take a 34-17 lead at the half. They outscored the Junior Lady Lions 14-7 in the second half to earn the win.
Tracey Bershers led the Junior Lady Indians with 25 points, followed by Abby West with eight. Lilli Hunt and Wraylin Phillips each scored six and Taylor Allen scored three.
Kendall Jones led Mount Ida with nine points, followed by Braelynne Bates with six and Madison Smith with four. Julie Burke scored three and Kirsten Gibbs scored two.
The Mount Ida Junior Lions gave Caddo Hills all the wanted in the junior boys matchup, but the Junior Indians were able to sneak out with a 43-34 victory.
Caddo jumped out to a 12-7 lead in the first period and outscored Mount Ida 10-6 in the second period to take a 22-13 halftime lead. They added three to their lead in the third quarter and had to hold off a Junior Lion rally in the final period to win the game by nine.
Gage Galloway led Caddo Hills with 16 points, followed by Cameron Gaither with 11 and Ryan Franks with seven. Simon Whisenhunt and Connor Kincannon each scored four.
Jonathan Lagrange led the Junior Lions with 24 points. Ethan Winkley scored four and Gage Dyer and Colton Goss each scored two.
Caddo Hills won the battle of the Indians in senior boys’ action with the home team earning a 67-54 victory.
Caddo Hills cruised to a 17-10 lead in the opening period, but Poyen cut into their lead in the second with a 19-17 run. Offense ruled the moment in the third period with the two teams combining for 41 points. Caddo got the best of the visitors with a 22-19 run. Things slowed down in the final period with Caddo holding on for the 13 point win.
Criskim Yang led the team with 20 points, which included five 3’s. Hagen Cimino scored 19 and Gavin Caldwell scored 13. Christian Duggan scored eight, Josh Stone scored five and Justin Turner scored two.
Sam Jordan and Jordan Turner led Poyen with eight points each.
Poyen got the best of the host team in the senior girls game with the visitors earning a 54-48 victory.
Caddo jumped out to a 14-9 lead in the opening stanza, but Poyen rallied in the second period, cutting the lead to 25-23 by halftime. Poyen seized the lead in the third period with a 14-7 run and held on for the six point win.
Ki Montiho led Poyen with 20 points, followed by Abby Fowler with 12.
Rachel Dumont and Sara Bershers led Caddo Hills with 15 points each. Haley Ortiz scored 12 and Scarlett Beggs and Gracie Wisener each scored three.
Kirby came away with wins over Mount Ida in senior high competition.
The Lady Trojans defeated Mount Ida 65-21.
Kirby jumped out to a 19-8 lead in the first and cruised to a 37-12 haltime lead. They went on to outscore Mount Ida 28-9 in the second half to win the game easily.
Kallee Cowart led Kirby with 16, followed by Kacie Anderson with 15 and Cammie York with 13. Taylor Swanson scored seven, Brooke Mitchell scored six and Shelby Foshee scored four. Gracen Smith, Allison Price and Jaylin Ramsey each scored two.
Lauren Wingfield led Mount Ida with 12 points, followed by Lyndsey Crutchfield with three. Patty Anne Whisenhunt, Jordan Farmer and Pacey Dillard each scored two.
The Trojans earned a 60-39 win over the Mount Ida Lions.
Kirby jumped out to a 22-10 lead in the first period and added seven to their lead in the second with a 12-5 run. Mount Ida outscored the Trojans in the third with a score of 15-13, but the Trojans closed the game out with a 13-9 run to preserve the win.
Dawson Bailey led the Trojans with 17 points, followed by Lee Whisenhunt with 11. Bo Stewart scored eight, Spencer Jones scored seven and Carson Smith and Evan Mount each scored four. Kyle Rudolph, Deric Putz, Dylan Vick and Shawn Funderburk each scored two. Derek Vick scored one point.
TJ Wilson led Mount Ida with 17 points, followed by Cody Robertson with 10. Charles Ingram and Anthony Spurling each scored four and Dawson Huff and Austin McAdoo each scored two.
The Mineral Springs Lady Hornets suffered a rare loss Tuesday when they fell 57-37 to the Mountain Pine Lady Red Devils.
Mountain Pine got off to a quick start, doubling the Lady Hornet effort with a 16-8 run. They kept the momentum going in the second period with a 19-8 run, taking a 35-16 lead at the half. Mountain Pine outscored Mineral Springs 22-21 in the second half to preserve the 20 point win.
Chasitee Newton and Olivia Coulter led the Lady Hornets with 10 each. Precious Johnson scored five and Aiyanna Crawford, Rhey Stewart and Ashley Green each scored four.
Jordan Godwin led the Lady Red Devils with 29 points, followed by Hailee Crosby with 17. Kaitlyn Miller scored five, Summer Godwin scored four and Brooke Meeks scored two.
The Mineral Springs Hornets coasted to a 41-18 half time lead and coasted to a 58-33 victory over Mountain Pine.
Mineral Springs jumped out to a 24-8 lead in the first period and added seven to their lead in the second period. Coach John Martin turned to his bench in the second half and the Hornets earned the 25 point victory.
Eleven Hornets contributed to the winning score with Darius Turner leading the way with 13 points. KeShaun Davis added 12 and Tre’ Lacy and Rickey Walker each scored seven. Raheem Brown scored six, and Kenshun Witherspoon and Marques Daniels each scored three. Levin Thornton and Kevonte Esters each scored two and Camron Perkins scored one.
Tyler Zander led the Red Devils with 15 points, followed by Trey Miser with seven. Carter Chapman scored four and Chad Graves scored three. Chase Brown and Brenndon Palmer each scored two.
Foreman and Cutter Morning Star filled the remaining slots with the Lady Gators earning a 63-39 victory and the Gators claiming a 71-63 win.
