Mount Ida Juniors earn wins at Bismarck

BISMARK – The Junior Lions and Junior Lady Lions earned victories at Bismarck, while the senior teams fell to the hosting Lions.
In the junior girls’ game Mount Ida walked away with a 54-35 win.
The Junior Lady Lions jumped out to a 38-15 lead in the first half and cruised to a 19 point victory.
Julie Burke led Mount with 14 points, followed by Madison Smith and Braelynne Bates with 13 each. Kendall Jones scored nine, Kirsten Gibbs scored four and Allie Saveall scored one.
The Junior Lions got off to a slow start and found themselves down 17-14 at the half. Mount Ida rallied in the second half to win the game 38-27.
Ethan Winkley and Jonathan Lagrange each scored 10 to lead the Junior Lions in scoring. Cade Jackson scored eight, Gage Dyer scored six and Jorge Lopez scored four.
The Lady Lions were defeated by Bismarck 66-51 in senior girls’ action.
Lauren Wingfield led the Lady Lions with 15 points, followed by patty Anne Whisenhunt with 14 and Lyndsey Crutchfield with 12. Jordan Farmer and Pacey Dillard scored three each and Mattie Fiorello scored two.
Bismarck defeated the senior boys50-47. The Lions held a 26-21 half time lead, but watched it slip away in the second half.
TJ Wilson led the Lions with 16, followed by Cody Robertson with 12 and Ty Whisenhunt with 11. Anthony Spurling scored six and Austin McAdoo scored two.
