Lady Indians earn victories, Knights reign victorious

ROSBORO – The Caddo Hills girls’ teams earned victories at Centerpoint Friday night while the Knights were able to best the Indians in the senior boys’ game.
Caddo Hills opened the night with a 47-22 victory over the Junior Lady Knights.
Tracey Bershers scored eight in the first period as Caddo jumped out to a 15-6 lead. Abby West and Taylor Allen each scored four in the second as the Junior Lady Indians increased their lead to 29-12 at the half. Caddo outscored Centerpoint 18-10 in the second half to win by 25.
Tracey Bershers led Caddo Hills with 12 points, followed by Taylor Allen with 11 and Abby West with 10. Capri Fogle scored five and Lilli Hunt, Liz Ruiz and Peyton Powell each scored two.
The Lady Indians won a 33-30 nail biter in the senior girls match up against Centerpoint.
Caddo got off to a slow start, with Rachel Dumont hitting a three for the only points of the opening quarter. Centerpoint scored 10 to take a 10-3 lead in the first. The Lady Indians went to work in the second period, cutting into the Lady Knight lead with a 9-5 run.
They continued to peck away at Centerpoint’s lead with a 10-8 run in the third. They were able to walk away with the win thanks to an 11-7 run in the final period.
Haley Ortiz led the Lady Indians with nine points, followed by Rachel Dumont with seven and Jordan Powell with six. Jessica Martin scored five, Gracie Wisener scored four and Sara Bershers scored two.
Shaylie Mount and Jade Pennington each scored six to lead the Lady Knights in points. Kiwi Garrison and Mikayla Bright each scored five, Melonie Valdez and Jaycee Jester each scored three and Cortney Samuel scored two.
Centerpoint made the most of their final game of the night, defeating Caddo Hills 62-26 in senior boys’ action.
The Knights jumped out to a 21-10 lead and took a 41-17 lead into the locker room at the half. They outscored Caddo Hills 21-9 in the second half to win the game by 36.
Tanner Brunt led the Knights with 16 points, followed by David Banda with 14. Dalton Cox and Tanner Owens each scored six and Keenan Owens scored five. Dustin Forsythe and Giovanni Valdez each scored three. Lance Chambers, Ricky Ramirez, Mark Partain and Kanon Horn each scored two. Logan Tailor scored one.
Hagen Cimino hit four threes for Caddo Hills in the loss to lead the Indians with 12 points. Josh Gonzalez and Hunter Blackwood each scored three points. Gaven Caldwell, Christian Duggan, Josh Stone and Justin Turner each scored two.
