Mrs. Ruthie Marie Willis Blanchard McCoy, age 92, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Thursday, December 3, 2015, in Nashville, Arkansas. She was born March 24, 1923 in Leola, Arkansas. She grew up in the West Otis Community in Sevier County, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, taught Sunday school for 50 years and was a member of the choir at First Baptist Church; she was also a member of Williamson Community Church where she loved to sing in the choir. Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” and Willie Short Willis; two husbands, Burl Blanchard and Earl McCoy; her son-in-law, William R. “Bill” Dyer, Jr.; one brother, R.C. Willis; three sisters, Ounita Roberts, Mildred Irvan and Willie Mae Willis and one infant son. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Ruth Davis of Homestead, Florida and Glenda Burl Dyer of Newport, Arkansas; five granddaughters, Nicki Litchford of Horatio, Jodi King of Nashville, Arkansas, Kelli Barton of Magnolia, Arkansas, Elizabeth Nordstrom of Edina, Minnesota and Brooke Davis of Lacey, Washington; eleven great-grandchildren, Jace Harris, Grace Harris, Gabbi Litchford, Kash King, Kali King, William Barton, Wade Barton, Wret Barton, Kia Nordstrom, Margot Nordstrom and Ramona Nordstrom; three brothers, Paul Willis, Glen D. Willis and Billy F. Willis; three sisters, Effie Morgan, Carolyn Sue Sclercio and Lavern Headstream; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Ruthie McCoy will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Williamson Community Church in Horatio with Bro. Jimmy Roden and Jerry Don Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Nicki and Greg Litchford, 545 Williamson Loop in Horatio.
