darrell brownMr. Darrell F. Brown, Sr. of Little Rock and Horatio, Arkansas, was born January 1, 1948, the first child of Sevier County and the third child to parents, Tommie and Snowie Brown. He attended and graduated from Sevier County High School in Lockesburg, Arkansas and his undergraduate study at University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1965, graduating with a degree in psychology in 1969. He was recently recognized as the first black football player and 2011 Razorback Trailblazer at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, He attended University of Arkansas school of law where he received his juris doctorate in 1972. Shortly after graduation at the age of 24, he was appointed US magistrate to the Panama Canal Zone from 1972 – 1979, where he met and married Angela Scott. He later served as an assistant attorney general, special prosecutor, and special judge in Pulaski County.
During his time in private practice, he was a part of the legal team involved in the Whitewater Investigation and trial in Little Rock and was appointed special prosecutor in the prominent MacArthur murder trial in Little Rock. Darrell departed this life on October 31, 2015, leaving behind his wife of 39 years, Angela, three children, Darrell Brown, Jr., a Little Rock attorney, Deedee Brown Campbell of Waco, Texas, a two-time All-American track and field athlete for the Hogs who was recently inducted into University of Arkansas Hall of Honor in September and is currently an Assistant Athletic Director for Baylor University and Derick Brown of Orlando, FL, an academic advisor and learning specialist with the University of Central Florida, 6 grandchildren, two brothers: Thomas of Chicago area McDonald’s owner and Don of Scottsdale, a retired Coors and Kraft Foods Senior Vice President, one sister, Pat Brown-Dixon of Kansas City, a Regional Administrator for the Small Business Administration appointed by President Barack Obama; along with a host of other loving family members across United States and overseas. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 6 at 11:00 a.m.at the Griffin Legget Chapel, located at 5800 W 12th, Little Rock, Arkansas and Saturday, November 7, at 11:00 A.M., at Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, 1015 W Collin Raye Drive, De Queen, Arkansas.
