Local candidates have filed for office

    Filing for the 2016 election concluded Monday at noon. Pike County will have two opposed positions.
    Pike County Sheriff Charlie Caldwell has filed for re-election as a Democrat and Roger “Bimbo” Flemens has filed for the position as a Republican.
    The other opposed race will be for the Mountain Constable position.
    Incumbent Wade Coffman and Chris Thompson have both filed for the position as Democrats.
    Democratic candidates who currently hold office that have filed are:
    Judge-Dewight Mack; County Clerk-Sandy Campbell; Circuit Clerk-Sabrina Williams; Assessor-Rebecca Alden; Treasurer-Loletia Rather; Justice of the Peace Position 1-John Terrell; Justice of the Peace Position 2-Robbie Crocker; Justice of the Peace Position 3-Ricky Buck; Justice of the Peace Position 4-Ed Jones; Justice of the Peace Position 5-Jerry Fendley; Justice of the Peace Position 9 Paul Baker; Missouri Constable-Ricky Branch. Jessie W. “Sonny” Simmons has filed unopposed for the Coroner position.
    Republican candidates who currently hold office that have filed are:
    Justice of the Peace Position 6-Verl Stovall; Justice of the Peace Position 7-David Sirmon and Justice of the Peace Position 8-John Plyler, Jr.
