Layne Jeffrey Woods, 16, of De Queen, Arkansas died on November 15, 2015 in a hunting accident near De Queen. Layne was born on July 14, 1999 to Jeff and Allison Woods of De Queen. He loved playing football, baseball, and hunting, especially duck hunting. He was a sophomore at De Queen High School. He loved the Leopards. Layne was a Christian and a member of the Church of Christ in De Queen. Layne is survived by his parents and one brother, Gage Woods; his grandparents Bobby and Linda Dodd of Texarkana, Texas, Leonard and Ann Woods of DeQueen; his uncles and aunts Steve and Rene King of Columbia, South Carolina, David and Lanette Brosin of Little Elm, Texas, Paul and Leigh Ann Pippen of Maud, Texas, Bobby and Staci Young of De Queen, Rocky and Shelly Halter of Sherwood, Arkansas, Ronnie and Angela Dodd of Nashville, Arkansas; his cousins Ben King, Allyson and David Moffat of Columbia, South Carolina, Blake and Austin Brosin of Little Elm, Texas, Alex Young, Aundra and Clint Cobb and Aubrie Smith of De Queen, Riley and Peyton Dodd of Nashville, Arkansas, and Eli and Micah Halter of Sherwood, Arkansas. Funeral Services for Mr. Layne Woods will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in De Queen with Minister Toney Stowers and Minister Tye Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, De Queen, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel.
