The Nashville Chamber of Commerce has sold all the available trees for their upcoming
Christmas Tree Wonderland. There are 71 poles available on Main Street from City Hall to
the railroad tracks at Sypert Street. All will be full for the Christmas season.
The Chamber wishes to thank everyone who purchased a tree. “We know it will give
Main Street more of a festive feeling for downtown Nashville. We hope that it will encourage
more shopping in downtown as well as in all of Nashville.” Chamber president Mike
Reese said in a press release.
The trees are scheduled to begin being placed between Monday, November 16 and
Wednesday, November 18. Rain is forecasted for the beginning of the week, so it could
be Wednesday before trees begin appearing on Main Street.
The Chamber is requesting that once the trees are up and ready to decorate, that they
be decorated as soon as possible for the annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas parade
that will be held on Tuesday, December 1.
The parade will begin at 5 p.m. There will be a contest for parade floats beginning at
4 p.m., in the parking lot of the South Park Shopping Center. A $250 prize is up for grabs
for the first place float in the contest, along with $150 for second place, and $100 for third
place. Judging will be done while floats are lining up at the shopping center.
Santa will also be attending this year’s Christmas parade.
