Two sisters, raised in the area and attended Kirby Schools, are authors
of children’s books. Tammy (Pate) Smith and Sherron (Pate) Pound have
each published two books. Smith’s last book “Paul the Talking Worm” is
about a fishing adventure with Paul the Worm and his friend James. Her
first book, “Boy and Me Go to the Zoo”, features a little boy and his guardian
angel. Pound’s books, “The Adventures of the Fourposter Pirate Ship”
and the “Fourposter Pirate Ship go to Rock Island”, were inspired by the
things she did with her grandchildren. The duo will be signing books at
Amity Trade Days on Sat., November 7 and their books can be found at
