Nashville Junior Auxiliary is again sponsoring the
Angel Tree Program this year. Organizer Ruth Steely
says the organization received numerous applicants
and that a number of angels are now available at several
locations around town. The locations to pick up
angels include Ruth Steely Farmers Insurance Agency,
Bear State Bank, Power Pharmacy, Red River Credit
Union, and Unique Body Salon. “All you need to do is
pick out an angel…each has an age, gender, and request.
Gifts do not have to be wrapped and must be returned
by Dec. 9.”
Steely says the gift requests are for needy children
and that those requests are not just toys. “Many of the
requests this year are for clothing or small items. We
even had one child that asked for food. There is a great
need and I’m proud to be a part of an organization that
is giving back to the community.”
Steely says the JA Angel Tree project is helping 28
families in the community this holiday season. “Thanks
in advance to our supporters because we could not
help these children without you.”
Nashville Junior Auxiliary is also sponsoring a
canned food drive at the local schools. The canned
food donated will also go towards the Angel Tree Program
and will be given to those families that signed up
for assistance.
All gifts are due back by Dec. 9. For any questions,
call 845-2500.
