Betty Ann (Copeland) Sanford, 75, of Nashville, Arkansas, entered her Heavenly home on Thursday, October 29, 2015, to be greeted by her husband, James Thomas “Tommy” Sanford who preceded her in 1996; her father and mother, TJ and Tacy Marjorie (Bissell) Copeland, a brother, James Carrol Copeland and a host of other relatives who made this journey before her.  Betty was born December 23, 1940, in Nashville, Arkansas.

A graduate of Nashville High School and Draughon Business College in Little Rock, she had worked at the Welfare Department in Howard County, the Coca Cola Bottling Company, the Howard County Burial Association and most recently at Charlie’s Thriftway.  She was loved by so many people she came in contact with throughout her life.  Her most important job was that of being a home maker, wife, mother grandmother, sister and aunt.  She excelled at being the most popular with the children who were in her care, because she actually took time with them.  She was always up for holding the babies, playing with the children and doing just what her family wanted to do.  She was instrumental in preparing the holiday meals and no one could beat her chocolate pies.  She loved her children and family so much that one should be inspired to be that kind of mother.

For many years Betty was a minster’s wife and was a member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church.  She grew up in Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a devoted Christian and lived her belief in Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her sons, James Michael Sanford and Jay Sanford; her grandson, Aaron Michael Sanford; a brother, Jewell David “Hank” Copeland, all of Nashville; a number of nephews, nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would invite relatives and friends to come share and celebrate Betty’s life with them from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, October 30, 2015, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.  A private family service will be held on Saturday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home.  870-845-1308.
