The Junior Timberwolves opened the 2015-16 season with a 48-37 victory, followed by the Lady Timberwolves with a 49-19 win. The senior boys wrapped up the sweep over the Hartford Hustlers with a 52-35 victory.
In the junior boys game, Brandon Lewis led all scorers with 21 points. He hit five 3 pointers in the win and went 2-2 from the free throw line.
Brian Kha scored 10, while Aaron Baker scored seven. Jeee Fryar scored five, Steven Simmons scored four and Zach Mayo hit a free throw.
Oden opened the matchup with a 12-8 lead in the first period. Hartford was able to outscore the Junior Timberwolves 10-4 in the second period to take a narrow 18-16 lead into the half.
The Junior Timberwolves reclaimed the lead in the third with a 15-11 effort, thanks in part to a pair of threes by Lewis. The final period was all Oden with the Junior Timberwolves out scoring the Junior Hustlers 17-8.
Zach Gragg was the leading scorer for Hartford with 15 points, followed by Dylan Kats with 11.
In senior girls action things got off to a slow start with Harford easing out to a 6-4 lead by the end of the opening period. The Lady Timberwolves caught fire in the second half, outscoring Hartford 19-3 to take a 23-9 halftime lead. Eden Singleton scored seven in the second period and Katie Golden scored six.
The second half was more of the same with Oden outscoring the Lady Hustlers 16-6 in the third and 10-4 in the fourth to earn the 30 point win.
Eden Singleton led the Lady Timberwolves with 15 points. She hit two 3 pointers and four field goals while going 1-1 from the line. Sara Black hit five field goals and was 3-6 from the free throw line to finish up with 13 points, followed by Katie Golden with eight.
Shelbie Kennedy scored five, Sarah Morrison scored four and Keira Thomas scored two. Kandy Simmons and Shauna Van Horn each scored one.
Sara Jackson led Hartford with eight points, followed by Rachel Hartsfield with six.
The senior boys wrapped things up with a 52-35 win.
Matt Vincent was the leading scorer with 17. He hit eight field goals and a free throw. Jeff Lewis was close behind with 16 points. he scored 10 from the field and was 6-8 from the charity stripe. Aaron Carmack added 10 to the winning effort and Tyler Fair scored seven. Carlos Nalasco scored two.
Chad Deitz led the Hustlers with 15 points, followed by Jordan Humphrey with seven.
The two teams battled through the first period only to end it in a 7-7 tie. Oden’s offense caught fire in the second with Jeff Lewis hitting four of four free throws and two from the field to lead the Timberwolves in a 19-4 run.
The second period proved to be the deciding factor of the game with both teams scoring 15 in the third and Oden edging out the Hustlers in the fourth with an 11-9 run.
