Mrs. Mildred Faye Nelson, age 92, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Friday, October 10, 2015, at her home. She was born to Lewis and Mary White Nelson in the Oak Grove Community of Sevier County, Arkansas, on December 27, 1922. She was a member of the Evergreen Church of God in Christ in Wilton, Arkansas, and enjoyed quilting, fishing, working her flowers, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family.
Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her parents, all 14 of her siblings, a son, Joe Edd Nelson, and her husband, Charles W. Nelson. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George and Bobbie Nelson of Lockesburg; a niece that she raised as a daughter, Valerie Nelson Jackson of Dallas, Texas, a great-niece that she raised as a granddaughter, Nicole Moyer of Virginia, one granddaughter, Deidre and Darnell Crump of Lockesburg, a grandson, Keyth Stafford of Ozan; two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a brother-in-law, LeRoy Nelson of De Queen, two sisters-in-law, Agnes Gilmore and Willie Boyles both of De Queen, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Mildred Nelson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, De Queen. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Community Cemetery, Lockesburg. Visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2015 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
