NASHVILLE – An Umpire
man was arraigned in circuit
court for terroristic threatening
and resisting arrest.
Brady O’Neal, 24, of Umpire,
was arraigned on terroristic
threatening first degree and
resisting arrest and entered
a not guilty plea Sept. 23 before
Howard County Circuit
Court Judge Tom Cooper.
The judge ordered O’Neal to
return on Dec. 9 for pretrial
and on Dec. 15 for trial. According
to a press release
issued by Howard County
Sheriff Bryan McJunkins,
“Deputies Travis Turner,
Dustin Wakefield, and Timmy
Floyd responded to a
call on Faulkner Road in
Umpire after receiving a call
of Brady O’Neal threatening
people at a residence with
a kitchen knife. O’Neal was
located by deputies at a
nearby residence. He was
asleep in a back bedroom
of a house and fought with
deputies when they tried to
wake him up. Deputies had
to use their taser to arrest
O’Neal.” O’Neal was arrested
for a felony count of
terroristic threatening and
resisting arrest.

Cooper on Sept. 23:
Ivory Johnson, 24, of
Nashville, was arraigned
on domestic battery third
degree and entered a not
guilty plea. Cooper ordered
Johnson to appear on Nov.
4 for pretrial and on Nov. 17
for trial.
Jeremi V. Johnson, 31, of
Nashville, was found fit to
proceed with trial settings.
Johnson is charged with
false imprisonment in the
first degree and aggravated
assault on a family member
or household member and
was ordered to return on
Dec. 9 for pretrial and on
Dec. 15 for trial.
Justin King, 19, of Texarkana,
Texas, entered a not
true plea for a probation
violation for the underline
charge of possession of a
controlled substance schedule
II. King was ordered to
return on Sept. 30.
Anthony L. Thomas Jr.,
21, of Hope, didn’t qualify
for Arkansas Community
Correction (was sentenced
there the week prior).
Thomas was sentenced
to jail time served and released
to probation for theft
by receiving.
George Edward Dixon Jr.,
51, of Nashville, appeared in
circuit court for an appeal
from Howard County District
Court and was ordered
to return on Dec. 9 for pretrial
and on Dec. 15 for trial.
Dixon was convicted of a
DWI in August and requested
to appeal the conviction
to the circuit court.
Criminal cases heard by
Circuit Judge Charles A.
Yeargan on Sept. 30:
April Kinsey, 34, of Murfreesboro,
was arraigned on
tampering with physical evidence,
possession of schedule
II controlled substance
and two separate counts
of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Yeargan ordered
Kinsey to return on Nov. 18
with an attorney and on
Dec. 9 for pretrial and on
Dec. 15 for trial.
Lucian Pryor, of Nashville,
made his first appearance
on domestic abuse
and was ordered to return
on Oct. 21 with an attorney.
He was also ordered to have
no contact with the alleged
victim.
Edward Wagner Jr., 27,
(address not listed) was
ordered to return on Oct. 28
with an attorney for financial
identity theft.
Justin King, 19, of Texarkana,
Texas, was granted a
continuance to Oct. 21 for
possession of a schedule II
controlled substance.
