Ms. Thelma Jean Lee, age 84, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at her home. She was born to George Emmuel and Dovie Julia Scroggins Lee in De Queen, Arkansas, on April 12, 1931. She was a retired restaurant cook, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church, and attended the Faith and Deliverance Church. She enjoyed ironing, singing, traveling, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family. She is survived by two sons, Ruben “Butch” Lee and Terry Lee both of De Queen; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie Lynn and Patrick Grant of De Queen; three sisters, Geraldine Desmond, Irene Daniels, and Jane McCoy all of De Queen; seven grandchildren, J. J. Hendrix, Kendall Hendrix, Caleb Grant, Courtney Russell, Damontre Grant, Deaudrea Smith, and Patrick McKinney; two great-grandchildren, Sophia, and Serenity; a special friend, Hubert Phillips of Horatio; and a number of nieces and nephews
Funeral Services for Ms. Thelma Lee will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 29, 2015 in the First Assembly of God Church in DeQueen with Rev. Patrick Grant, and Pastor Jamie Erby officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
