Winners of July Fourth car, truck shows revealed

LOCKESBURG – The winners of the “Fireworks In the Park” car and truck show, held on Independence Day at the Lockesburg City Park, have been released.
For cars, Torrey Barber took first in the pre-1939 division with a 1936 Dodge Business Coupe. Torrey Barber also won first in the 1950-1959 division with a 1955 Chevrolet Blaire and Roy Rogers took second with a 1956 Pontiac Star Chief.
Ernie Kennemore won the 1960-1969 division with a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle. Archie Dorsey took first in the 1970-1979 division with his 1970 Buick GSX and Ernie Kennemore won second with a 1970 Chevy Nova.
Eddie Polk was named both first and second place in the 1980-1999 division with a 1995 Cadillac DeVille and a 1989 Ford LTD Crown Victoria, and David Litchford won the modern car division with a 2012 Ford Mustang.
In the truck class, Jimmy and Rita Fitzgerald won the pre-1939 division with their 1921 Ford T. James Martian won the 1940-1949 division with a 1949 Chevrolet pick-up and Keith Midgett placed first in the 1950-1959 division with a 1951 Ford pick-up.
Toni Davis took second with a 1954 Chevrolet pick-up. Richard Meredith won the 1960-1969 division with a 1967 Chevrolet pick-up, and Adam Steward won the modern truck division with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado.
Overall, Ernie Kennemore took the People’s Choice for his 1970 Nova and Torrey Barber came second with the 1936 Business Coupe.
Archie Dorsey picked up Best in Show for his 1970 GSX, with Torrey Barber coming in second again with the 1936 Business Coupe.
