NEWHOPE – The local business community grew by one recently with the opening of Gammy’s Antiques & More.

Specializing in both antique and vintage items, Gammy’s Antiques & More also stocks new gift items such as Raining Manna Farm Goat Milk Soap and Body Cream, Stutzman’s Pantry jams, jellies and relishes and a full line of Vignette’s Chalk-Style Paint products.
“It has been a dream of ours for several years to retire to Newhope and open an antique store,” said Vicki Cornett, owner and proprietor of the business.
Cornett and her husband, Rick, purchased the property, including the 111-year-old home that houses the store, about 5 years ago and began the renovation process.
“From a financial standpoint, we probably should have torn the old house down and built a new building in its place, but we fell in love with the house and made the decision to totally restore and renovate,” she explained. “We just love the final result, and from the feedback we’ve received from our customers and the residents of Newhope, we feel we made the correct decision.”
Gammy’s Antiques & More is open five days a week. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays, and the store is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
