Lois was born July 3, 1913 in Kirby, Arkansas to Daniel Edward and Lillie Victoria Adams Woodall. She grew up in the Pike County area near Kirby with her 6 siblings. She attended school at Kirby completing 10th grade. She married Clyde Smith Hobson in Hot Springs January 4, 1941. They had two sons, Gene and Danny and lived in Mt. Pine near Hot Springs as well as Californiaand Washington before returning to Kirby in 1960 where Clyde would retire and both Gene and Danny graduated. Lois continued to live in Kirby until 1990 when she moved to Hope to be near her son, Gene and his family. She moved to Springdale in the mid-90s and lived in the same two-bedroom apartment until going to Shiloh Nursing and Rehab November 2014. She was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church at Kirby and a strong Christian in faith and daily living.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; a granddaughter, Caryn Hobson Pierce of Springdale; two sons, Gene Hobson of Mena, and Danny Hobsonof Lowell.
She is survived by her daughters-in-law and closest friends, Bennie Hobson of Mena and Judy Hobson of Springdale; six grandchildren, Janice Hobson Whorton and husband, Randall of Mena; Carol Hobson Bazar Jones and husband, Audie of Greenwood; Mike Hobson and his wife Melissa of Mena; Mark Hobson and his wife Tyra of Mena; Alice Hobson of Springdale; Danny Hobson II and his wife, Aimee of Rogers; “granddaughter”, Jerri McWaters of Fayetteville; 19 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends of all ages.
Visitation and funeral services were conducted at the Westfield Chapel Funeral Home, Springdale. Interment was at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale.Pastor, Bobby Golden from the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Kirby; and Charlie Foster from Cross Church , Springdale; officiated her Celebration of Life. Her three favorite songs, How Beautiful Heaven Must Be, I Know Who Holds Tomorrow, and I ‘ll Fly Away were song by a group from Robinson Avenue Church of Christ, Springdale.
