The deli staff at Bob’s Food City completed a 100 ft. long strawberry shortcake in honor of Independence Day with help from Danny Bushong from CSM Bakery Solutions and Tim Shanahan from Associated Wholesale Grocers.
The lengthy cake has become an annual event at Bob’s Food City with last year’s effort stretching 50 feet. This year’s cake doubled last year’s efforts and is a testament to the great lengths Bob’s Food City goes to provide exceptional service at a great price for their customers.
the cake is comprised of 175 1/8 sheet cakes, nine flats of hank sliced strawberries and 140 lbs. of whipped icing.
Danny Bushong is the brainchild behind the cake. The cake expert works for CSM Bakery Solutions and travels around the country doing specialty cakes such as this one. He stated that he believes this may be a state record for Arkansas.
Tim Shanahan of Associated Wholesale Grocers was also on hand to lend his support.
Pieces of the cake may be purchased at $5.99 per 1/8 sheet cake at Bob’s Food City. They also have smoked ribs, jumbo chicken legs and smoked sausage for your holiday meal needs.
