Bettie James, aged 87, of Nashville, Arkansas, died at Nashville Nursing and Rehab on Sunday, June 28, of natural causes. She was born August 19, 1927, in Nashville to the late Noah and Leona Moses. She attended school in the Nashville area, where she met and later married Wendell James on July 21, 1943.
Bettie touched the lives of countless people through her kindliness and consideration. She was a devoted Christian, who had faithfully attended services at the Sunset Church of Christ for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wendell James who died on June 21, 1997; and a brother, Elvis Moses.
She is survived by her son, Danny and wife Patricia; daughter, Diane Cox and her husband Norman; two grandchildren, Brandon Davis, and granddaughter Lacey Carver and her husband Charles; two great grandchildren, Bryan and Bailey Carver; and a special friend, Martin Stanley; her brother, Gene Moses and wife Joyce; and a sister, Linda Copeland; as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Paragould Children’s Center, 5515 Walcutt Rd., Paragould, Arkansas 72450.
Services will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:00 am. at Sunset Church of Christ with Philip Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home.
