Lorene Da
vis Crawford, age 89, of Glenwood, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015.
She was born on September 3, 1925, in Glenwood, the daughter of Everett Davis and Josie Horn Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clovis E. Crawford, on February 17, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her brother-in-law, Tommy Duke.
She was a lifetime member of Church of Christ and received her Bachelors of Science in Education from Henderson State Teachers College and her master’s degree in education from the University of Arkansas. She taught for many years in the area school districts of Amity, Glenwood and Hot Springs, and also in Amarillo and Houston, Texas school districts. Throughout her teaching career Lorene helped mold the lives of many fourth graders, who to this day still carry their fond memories of the positive impact she made in their lives. She was a lover of Boston terriers and enjoyed reading. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Verna “Chub” and J.D. Foshee, Gladys “Pookie” and Denman Sanders, Anna Jo and Philip Klopfenstein and Betty Duke, all of Glenwood; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2015, in the Glenwood Cemetery with Harold Vaughn officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
