doris Sumler (2)Our lives are like a book. Each chapter is filled with precious memories and time well spent with our loved ones. On May 30, 2015 the last chapter of a beautiful story was completed. A life filled with love for family and friends came to a close and Ms. Kay Jones departed this life to move on to the reward of a journey well done. Kay was born December 5, 1947 to Lovell and Earnice Jones.
She attended Howard County Training School where she graduated with the Class of 1965. She was a member of the Junior and Senior Howard County Tigers basketball team. Kay retired after working 41 years at Tyson Foods in Nashville, Arkansas. She worked in Quality Control. She was a member of Bright Star Baptist Church and served as Usher President. Kay loved her family and she loved to cook. She especially loved cooking for her church.
Kay was preceded in death by her father, Lovell Jones; her brothers, Londell Jones and Lure Edward Jones; and sister Jolean Perryman.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving mother, Earnice Jones of California; sons, Elton (Iresa) Jones and Jeffrey (Tequila) Jones, all of Mineral Springs; daughters, Stephanie (Brian) Smith of Mineral Springs and Teresa (Ronnie) Owens of Texarkana; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; brother, Cleavell (Velma) Jones; sisters, Edna May, Hazel Jones, and Patricia Rillera, all of California; aunt, Helen Adams of Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at Lyles Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 East Broad St., Texarkana, Arkansas
Services will be on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brightstar Baptist Church, Mineral Springs, Arkansas.
