NASHVILLE – Howard County 4-H has announced the following schedule of summer events:
• June 12, 8-9 a.m.- Mini Worm Condo Workshop: Build your own worm condo while learning the role that worms play in having a healthy garden. The workshop will be held at the Farmer’s Market. A $5 registration fee will be charged to cover the cost of program supplies. You must register by June 8.
• June 25, 9-11 a.m.- Nature Walk and Talk Workshop: Join us for an outdoor walk and learn about soil content and more. We will start this workshop at the Ronnie Woods pavilion at the City Park. A $3 registration fee will be charged to cover the cost of program supplies. You must register by June 19.
• July 2, 9 a.m.-noon- Food Explorers Workshop: Attend this workshop and explore healthy foods from around the world. You will learn how farmers are providing the foods that feed the world and how easy it is to prepare some of these foods at home. A $5.00 registration fee will be charged to cover the cost of program supplies. You must register by June 25.
• July 14, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.- Beginners Sewing Workshop: This workshop will be at the E.H. House and is for returning and new sewers. Learn how farmers grow the textiles we use to make our clothing. Bring your lunch. You must register by July 1.
August 4, 9 a.m.-noon- Science Workshop: Learn how science and agriculture go together. Many subjects will be covered, such as egg science, bio-plastics, properties of ice cream and more. A $5.00 registration fee will be charged to cover the cost of program supplies. You must register by July 29.
