Mark and Sheila Adams, of Hope, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Whitney, to Derek Cox, of Maumelle.
A 2008 graduate of Hope High School, Adams is the grand daughter of Donald and Marilyn Smith, also of Hope, and a 2013 graduate of UA Cossatot’s Hope campus, where she majored in early childhood education. She is currently employed as a teacher at Mayflower Elementary School.
Cox is the son of Mark and T’Lynn Cox, of Nashville, and John and Melanie Spencer, of Little Rock. His grandparents are Rex and Glenda Moorer, of Nashvile; Nell Upton, of Dardanelle; Larry and Goldie Hughes, of Cove; and Joan Porter, of Fayetteville. A 2006 graduate of Nashville High School, Cox graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 2010 with a degree in accounting and currently works at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
The couple will be united in matrimony Sat., June 27 at An Enchanting Evening in Roland, after which they will honeymoon in the Bahamas.
