minterMelba “Kay” Murray Minter, a native of Nashville was born near Center Point to Edith and Blount Murray on April 11, 1938. She passed away in Round Rock,Texas on June 4, 2015.
Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby M. Minter; brother, Thomas Wayne Murray; and sister, Correna Murray Tollett.
She is survived by her three beloved children, Charles “Chuck” Minter (Myrna), Gary S. Minter, Kimberly Kay Minter Blake; and three cherished grand-daughters, Melissa, Christine and Kelly. She has one surviving brother Joseph “Pat” Murray (Donna) of Hudson, Florida and a brother in law Glenn Tollett of Nashville, Arkansas.
She graduated from Nashville High School in 1956 having been elected the “Most Beautiful girl in her class. Kay went on to earn her a Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Psychology then into a successful career with the Texas Department of Rehabilitation providing restorative services to those in need.
Following her retirement Kay traveled extensively in Europe,Asia, and Russia.
She passed away peacefully with her family beside her having in her words lived “over the
top”. Her presence will be solely missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Services under the direction of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks of Austin, Texas.
