Dale Hankins, Th.D, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 30, 2015 in Tyler, Texas. Dale was born on January 24, 1929 in Gillham, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe and Minnie Dora Birge Hankins, brothers Leonard Hankins, Archie Hankins, and sisters Paralee Hankins Turner, and Ola Hankins. He is survived by his wife of 59 years LaTance Tate Hankins; daughters LaFonda Nimmons and Robbie Simpson; grandchildren Ryan Nimmons, Joshua Simpson, Christopher Simpson, Daniel Simpson of Tyler, Texas; Rebecca and Bro. Robert Lee, and great granddaughter Summer Lee of San Augustine, Texas. brother, Donald and Marilyn Hankins of DeQueen. Dale served 8 years in the US Navy during the Korean conflict, 24 years with the Dallas Police Department, and 23 years as a pastor with the Baptist Missionary Association of America. He served as pastor of Richmond Road Baptist in Texarkana, Texas, Rocky Point Baptist in Lula, Oklahoma, Shady Grove Baptist in DeBerry, Texas, and Friendship Baptist in DeQueen. Graveside service will be held at Valley Cemetery in Gillham, Arkansas, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 with Bro. Duane Turner officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be: Ryan Nimmons, Joshua Simpson, Christopher Simpson, Daniel Simpson, Robert Lee, and Larry Higgins
