Park to host series of free, cheap events

kayak adventureA number of upcoming events are planned at Millwood State Park.
On Fri., May 15, the park will host a kayak adventure from 6-7:30 p.m. The event will include information on basics of the sports, so both beginners and seasoned veterans will be welcome. Attendees are asked to meet at the park marina at 5:45 p.m. Admission is $5 for everyone, and children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The very next day, the park will host a waterfowl way trail hike from 9-10 a.m. Admission is free and attendees are urged to bring personal drinking water, sturdy hiking shoes and insect repellent.
Later Saturday, from 4-5 p.m., the park will host a class on using a bird’s beak to identify its species. The event is also free, and takes place in the ‘area B’ amphitheater.
Sunday will close out the series of events with a class on wetlands from 2-3 p.m. The event is also free and takes place in the ‘area B’ amphitheater.
