Gibson mugDIERKS – A collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle Wednesday morning has resulted in the arrest of a Dierks woman on multiple charges.

According to statements made by Dierks police, Jennifer Diana Gibson, 36, was backing up her Nissan XTerra in the parking lot of the EZMart store located on Front St. in Dierks when she struck elderly local man Bill Cobb. Gibson then reportedly left the scene before police arrived, but was later taken into custody by city investigator John McKee.
Dierks police chief Brian White reported that Cobb, an octogenarian, was bleeding profusely at the scene, but thankfully did not suffer any broken bones. White also reported that while Gibson currently only faces misdemeanor charges of leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended or revoked license, he expects felony charges to be brought following the result of blood tests for alcohol and controlled substances.
She was booked into the Howard County jail Wednesday afternoon, and was subsequently released on $690 bond.
