Pike County Clerk Sandy Campbell has announced that the County Clerk’s office has began the process of verifying voter rolls.
The verification is done in accordance with the law that states that anyone who has not voted in the last two federal elections must be updated.
According to the records there are 1,272 registered voters who will be sent a card for verification this year.
It is imperative that these cards be sent back to the Clerk’s office within the allowed time or the voter registration will become inactive and in two more cycles the registration will be canceled unless a vote is cast or an update is made in some other way.
In addition to the verification, the cancellation process is ongoing. Records indicate that 306 voter registrations will be cancelled this year unless the voter responds to this mail out.
If your voter registration is cancelled, you must re-register to be eligible to vote.
