Mrs. Norma Sue Boyd Simmons went to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, April 27, 2015. She was born on August 4, 1928 to Nathan and Bithie Boyd at Alpine, Arkansas. She married Jessie R. Simmons on January 6, 1946. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Tim Allen Sharp; her mother and father, three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Jessie R. Simmons; one son and daughter-in-law, Jessie W. (Sonny) and Frances Simmons of Glenwood; two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda Sue and Ronnie Archer of Lockesburg and Hilda Dean of Nashville; one brother and sister-in-law, Rodger and Mary Boyd of Dierks; one sister and brother-in-law, Mattie and Mitch King of Sun City, Arizona; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and her special caregivers, Sharon White, assisted by Mrs. Simmons grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Simmons will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015, in Burg Cemetery with Tony Hill and Robert Peek officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
