play 1The Montgomery County Council for the Performing Arts spring musical production, Secret Garden, will be performed at Roosevelt Auditorium, located adjacent to the Mt. Ida High School Gymnasium, on Fri., April 24, at 7 p.m. and Sun., April 26, at 2 p.m.
Roxy Collingwood (Maria in Sound of Music) as director, stage manager, and sound designer has put together beautiful, haunting musical accompaniment that sets the atmosphere.  Trey Kirchhoff (Captain Von Trapp) joins her as sound operator and veteran Jay Green handles the lights.
Some characters were introduced in last week’s paper.  Caddo Hills student Teddy Green (Kurt in Sound of Music) portrays Colin Craven, the sickly, hidden invalid and son of the owner of Misselthwaite Manor.  Denzil Roland (Max in Sound of Music) is Ben Weatherstaff, the head gardener.  Kaylea Summers (Von Trapp child in Sound of Music) plays Dickon Sowerby, brother of the housekeeper, who helps Mary tend the secret garden.
Judy Cook (Anne in Diary of Anne Frank) is the nurse, while Sean Green brings the robin to life. Arianna, Kathryn, and Sally Davison make up the school children in India who make fun of Mary.  Bria Wells is the belly dancer, while John Davison and Keller Deal portray the pallbearers.
Don’t miss this chance to support MCCPA, which has been in existence for 30 years.  This family musical is suitable for all ages.
