Hugh Harris was born January 9, 1938 to Robert and Susie Craig Harris in Graves Chapel, Arkansas. He was a retiree from Weyerhaeuser where he worked 40 years. He loved hunting, the outdoors, riding horses, sports and having big family gatherings. He was a member of the first original Arkansas Trailblazers horse riding club. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Frankie Lenora Langston-Harris and three of his siblings-sisters Juanita Gamble, Edna Graves and his beloved brother Jimmy Nile Harris.  After the death of his first wife, he later married Helen Winstead of Mineral Springs, Arkansas. He leaves to cherish his memories six daughters: Suzanne(Jackie) Haney of Texarkana, Texas, Lola (Charles)Hopkins, Frankie Harris, Lois White and Cathy(Paul) Conway all of Mineral Springs, Arkansas and Joe Ann Harris of North Little Rock, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren: Rhonda Conway, Tory Conway, Ashley (Barnado)Thomas, Christopher Harris, Tametri White, Brittney Harris, Chancey Conway, Chrishauna Harris, Jerry D. White, Channing Harris, Kavante’ Hopkins and Jayla Jefferson; thirteen great grandchildren: Ashanti Burris, Keyshawn Conway, Kendon Burris, Ovosia Brandon, Aniyah Graham, Katrevion Thomas, Bryce Thomas, Kailey Thomas, Jaiden Gulley, Camille Harris, Paris Jackson, and Jordyn Harris; three sisters: Tereasa White and Betty Anderson of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Sadie Harris of Mineral Springs, Arkansas; special cousin, William Custard of Prescott, Arkansas; sister in laws, Majorie Thomas of Columbus, Arkansas and Estelle Green of Hope, Arkansas, brother-in-law Eddie Langston of Washington, Arkansas; life- long friend George (Big George)Ware of Graves Chapel, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Family hour 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Mineral Springs Gymnasium.  Burial will be at Flint Hill Cemetery in Mineral Springs.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
