Billy Samuel McDonald, Jr. was born to the late Billy S. McDonald and Annie Dora McDonald in Laura, Mississippi in 1953. He was a member of First Church of God-Tollette. He served his country in the Air Force and he retired from Red River Army Depot after 35 years of government services. In 1973, he met Joann McGhee and to this union six children were born. He was a great athlete. This was demonstrated through his children and grandchildren. He loved sports and supported them in their activities. Mack was a humble man with a heart of a lion. He enjoyed sitting on the porch with family. He took pride in taking care of his yard and was content with watching Westerns, the news and sports. He lived and breathed his family. He departed this life on Saturday, April 25 at the age of 61. He leaves to cherish his lifetime of beautiful memories, a devoted wife, Joann; two sons, Billy (Monica) McDonald, III of Dallas, Texas, Jason (Kristi) McDonald of Atlanta, Georgia; two daugthers, LaRessa McDonald of Colorado Springs, CO and Whitney (George) Barton of Nashville, AR; four sisters, Barbara (Calvin) McDonald and Helen (Melvin) Morrison both of Picayune, MS, Linda (John) Beck of Purvis, MS, Grace (Junior) Davis of Dallas, TX; nine grandchildren, Mynissa, Justice, Kendra, Jayden, Koby, Kayden, Mason, Brooklyn and Isiah; two uncles; two aunts; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; two special friends, Carlos Clark and Bro. Ray Charles (Audrey) McGhee; four nieces; five nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 11am-5pm, family hour 6-7pm Friday, May 1 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 2:30pm Saturday, May 2 at First Church of God-Tollette. Burial will be at Crofton Cemetery in Tollette. Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
