Peter “Pete” Washington Darling, age 85 of Nashville, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 20, 2015 in Northglenn, Colorado. He was born August 8, 1929 in Center Point, Arkansas to the late Willis Blakely and Ollie Ann Mays Darling. He was a retired poultry and cattle farmer and a member of the Church of Christ. He loved his farming and was very successful, receiving the Howard County Farm Family of the Year. He loved camping and working in his yard. He also was a firm believer in family, teaching each of his kids how to work. Preceding him in death was his parents; his first wife, Martha J. Darling; two sons, Peter R. “Rusty” Darling and Howell C. Darling; and nine of his siblings. His survivors include his wife, Phyllis Ann Smith Darling of Denver, Colorado; two daughters, Janie Darling of Saratoga and Leanna Darling Coats of Webberville, Michigan; two daughter-in-laws, Michelle Darling of Fayetteville and Debbie Welch of Macon, Georgia; one sister, Carolyn Buchanan of Deer Park, Texas; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a large host of other family and friends. Services will be Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Nashville Funeral Home with Karon Baxley officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home.
