Hattie Miller pictureOn June 22, 1941 Hattie was born to the late Thomas and Julia Graves Walton in Mineral Springs, Arkansas.  She was the oldest of the nine children in this family. Hattie graduated from the Howard County Training School of Tollette, Arkansas in 1959. After graduation, she married Morris Miller and they moved to Dierks, Arkansas, where they both worked for Weyerehauser.  Later, Hattie retired from Tyson Food. Hattie was a faithful member of the Northside Church of God in Christ, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, choir member and church secretary. After Hattie’s health would not allow her to live in her home, she moved quietly to the Mine Creek Nursing Center in Nashville. Hattie was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Miller on February 7, 1993 and an infant child.  Also preceding her were her siblings, Charles, Thomas Jr., Aretha and Donald. Mourning Hattie’s homegoing will be her daughter, Lavern Michelle Graham (Stacy); granddaughters, Bri’Yuna Wilson and Iris Holmes and great-grandson, Jadden Lee; siblings, Dorothy Hendrix of Mineral Springs, Margaret (Alvin) Stewart of Tollette, Arkansas, Phillip (Geneva) Walton of Nashville, Arkansas and Evelyn Williams of Jackson, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews; her Miller in-laws, Charles, William, Willie B., Adolph, Dorothy, Finas and Ellouise; her church family and community friends. Visitation will be held 12:00 pm-5:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.  Mrs. Miller will also lie in state one hour prior to funeral services.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Northside Church of God in Christ.  Burial will be at Flint Hill Cemetery in Mineral Springs.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
