NASHVILLE – The Nashville Scrapperettes squared off against the Bryant Lady Hornets Monday and the Arkansas High Lady Diamond Hogs Tuesday.

Against the Lady Hornets, the team came out to an early lead 2-0 in the first – but the game was tied up 3-3 at the end of the second as the Lady Hornets battled back.

In the fourth, the Bryant team was able to leap ahead with a massive five runs. That effectively ended the game, 8-3 Bryant.

The Nashville team did have some successes, particularly a hit from Brookelyen Cox bringing in both RBIs, while Brittany Hilliard, Kendall Kirchhoff and Mattie Jamison also getting hits.

The following day, the Scrapperettes’ play was more paced against the Arkansas High team.

They were able to post runs in the second, third, fifth, sixth and final inning, while the Lady Diamond Hogs ran in only one player in the second to leave the game 9-1 Nashville.

Hilliard was credited with the win, giving up only two hits in her five innings at the mound. Jamison accounted for two runs on offense, as was Jazmine Johnson.

The Scrapperettes also have faced scheduling irregularities because of rain, but are set to face the De Queen Lady Leopards after spring break.
