Floy Jean Linville Reed was born in Nashville, Ark., April 27, 1947, and passed away Sept. 11, 2025, at UAMS in Little Rock, Ark., at the age of 78, surrounded by family members.

She was born into the family of Miley and Della Martin Linville, along with a sister, Inell Linville and four brothers, Leon, Jerald, Burl and Archie Linville all deceased from the Howard and Pike County areas. Survived by a sister Majorie Worley (Claude) of Dierks, Ark.

Better known to family and friends as Jean, she had an unique family structure. Brothers married sisters, and after a heart-breaking death shortly after Jean was born it was necessary for her to live with her Uncle Riley and Aunt Pearl Linville and their family. Their children considered her a sister and loved her as they did the other siblings. That included four brothers, Ray of Nashville, Ark., Leroy of Umpire, Ark., Buiel and Tom Linville both of Nashville, Ark., and three sisters, Evelyn Poole of Camden, Ark., Ella Sue Campbell of Nashville, Ark., and Peggy Stone of Murfreesboro all deceased. Survived by a brother Noel Linville (Eileen) of Nashville, Ark.

This is the family Jean lived with until she married Jimmy Gilbert (deceased). They had three children, Jimmy Dale Gilbert (Amanda), Sandy Gilbert and Stacy Gilbert all of Nashville.

After the death of her first husband Jean married Perry Reed (deceased). This extended her family even more bringing three stepsons, Greg Reed (Leah), Joey Reed (Amy) and Jason Reed (Dede) into the group.

Jean is leaving behind the highlights of her life in 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grands. They brought joy to her heart and a beam in her eye every time she was around them.

Jean was a member of the 1965 graduating class of Nashville High School and soon after that married Jimmy. She was a hard worker at whatever she was doing. A few of the places she worked were the Rainbow Learning Center where she took care of the babies, Rita’s Flowers and Nashville High School Cafeteria. In her spare time she enjoyed arranging and planting flowers, sewing, and especially quilting. She enjoyed gatherings with family and friends and catching up on life’s happenings. She was one in a million Lady and will be truly missed by many.

Above all Jean loved her Jesus and was saved earlier in her life. She was a faithful member of Midway Baptist Church in Nashville, Ark., and always looked forward to the fellowship with other members.

Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, between 5-7 p.m. at Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville, Ark. Graveside services at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hwy. 26 and Mt. Pleasant Road on Monday, Sept. 15th, 2025, at 2 p.m. with Bro Keith Mays Officiating and Prayer by Mark Smith.
