A YES, I AM STILL HERE peeking out my window on Main Street, and I realize many of you have a different opinion of President Trump than mine.
I am frankly worried about him putting troops in cities that have not asked for assistance in fighting crime.
The main reason, in my humble opinion, is that the particular city or state did not support President Trump in his most recent Presidential election
He is a vindictive person, and he’s got the power to do just about anything he wants.
Except release the Epstein List.
Everything that I see or read is that the targeted Blue cities or states have lower crime rates than certain Red cities or states that DID support President Trump. Even so, he sends the troops to the Blue and not the Red.
I think that some of his cabinet appointments have been disastrous. Especially Secretary of Defense and Secretary of Health and Human Services.
I admit to being wishy-washy. I’ve voted for more Republican candidates than Democrats. Neither side would claim me.
I support border control and I use gender specific pronouns — he and she.
But the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection and subsequent Presidential pardons have me wearing a blue Gulf of Mexico cap.
I hope we remain friends. We’re Americans.

MORE FOOTBALL. I have resumed wrapping myself in the lofty mantle of #1 Fair Weather Razorback Football Fan, and this week I have predicted Arkansas State to win the long-awaited football matchup with the Hogs (see our contest in this newspaper issue).
It’s a longshot, I know.
In addition to my lingering negative confidence in the Hogs, I have a nephew who is an assistant coach at ASU. So, there is a blood connection.
In addition, I know that my sister will stop speaking to me if she sees me rooting for the Raz……ks. So, I will root for the Raz……ks whilst out of her sight.
After watching the Arkansas-Alabama A&M game, this past weekend, my clarity of judgment was obviously influenced by my own celebration resulting from the Texas and Alabama losses.
Those losses were against teams I normally root against — Ohio State and Florida State, respectively. Hate ‘em. Usually.
But they were playing Texas and Alabama, respectively, so I got on the Buckeye and Seminole bandwagons, respectively.
Politics and football make for strange bedfellows. Someone once made that wise observation.
When it comes to the Raz…..ks, I am naturally pessimistic resulting from decades of being disappointed only a few weeks after sportswriters and sports broadcasters had me thinking National Championship.
This pessimism has extended to all sports including women’s gymnastics.

FREE ADVICE. This is for those people like me who enjoy hardboiled eggs and who are thinking about buying that device advertised on Facebook which hardboils six eggs at a time with no problem whatsoever. Just pour in some water, press a button, and walk away.
If it sounds too good to be true then it IS too good to be true.
Keep your money.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I have run out of ‘thoughts and prayers’ following the most recent school shooting. I beg our national legislators to show the nation they are willing and able to at least talk about the issue of gun availability.
These awful acts are all too common nowadays, and I believe it is part of a national illness.
We — meaning our state and national officials — need to sit down and shout at each other about some solution that could save innocent lives. It would be a start.
It might not make the gun lobby happy.
