A Washington, Ark., enterprise has announced its partnership with Hives for Heroes, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to sustainability, conservation, and providing support to the nation’s heroes.
Hives for Heroes involves service members, veterans, first responders and their families by providing access to resources, funding, and a network of experienced beekeepers to enable them to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for beekeeping.
Kevin Nason, a Marine Corps veteran and co-owner of Southern Yankee Homestead, a local beekeeping business, has joined the Hives for Heroes mentorship program. Theire invitation is to any local law enforcement, fire department, first responders, or veterans that would be interested in beekeeping.
