The comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS was visible to the naked eye for much of October as it zoomed across the night sky and disappeared into the western horizon. The comet, dubbed “The Comet of the Century,” is now getting out of range and will not return for another 80,000 years. The solid white lines in this picture near the horizon are aircraft operating lights as the planes moved across the sky during the 30-second timed exposure. (News-Leader photo/JOHN BALCH)
