The Pike County Circuit Clerk’s Office was awarded a $20,000 Automated Record System Grant at the Fall Meeting of the Circuit Clerks Association held Thursday, October 15. Pike County Circuit Clerk Sabrina Williams said the grant will be used to begin the process of scanning in the old Deed Books to make them accessible by computer. The vault in the Circuit Clerk’s office contains deed records that date back to 1895. Williams said the grant will get the process started but will not cover the expenses of all the books. She intends to reapply for the grant in hopes of converting all records. Pictured from left Deputy Clerk Angie Strawn, Circuit Clerk Sabrina Williams and Deputy Clerk Susan O’Neal.
