Roger Huey, age 76, of Daisy, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.
He was born on May 5, 1940 in Amity, the son of Oliver Huey and Leon Gray Huey. Two days after his birth, his mother passed away from complications of child-birth and he was raised by his grandparents, Emory and Eva Cash. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; his son, Tracy Gould; and his brother, James Huey. On March 26, 1977, he was married to Bonnie Holt.
A retired logger and truck driver, he enjoyed fishing and taking care of his yard.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Huey of Daisy; seven children and their spouses, Ricky and Deloris Huey of Norman, Jamie and Laurie Huey of Glenwood, Shane and Amanda Huey of Claremore, Oklahoma, Linda and John Record of Lawrence, Kansas, Donnie Gould of Daisy, Gina Adams of Rosboro, and Lesa and Mitchell Gatlin of Rosboro; twenty grandchildren; eleven great- grandchildren; and his faithful dog, Bella.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 5, 2017, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Kevin Jewell officiating.
Interment was in the Mount Joy Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jake Huey, Lloyd Murry, Ronnie Partee, Chad Stewart, Larry Joe Mack and Vic Forga.
Honorary pallbearers were Seath Gatlin and Lawson Gatlin.
