Michael D.D.H. Funderburk, age 28, of Amity, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017.
He was born on June 7, 1988, in Nashville, Arkansas, the son of Alton Wayne Funderburk, Sr. and Cindy Marie Dickinson Funderburk. He was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Brandon Kelly Funderburk; his paternal grandparents, Willie and Margie Funderburk; and his maternal grandfather, Robert Louis Dickinson, Sr.
He was a computer whiz, enjoyed music, spending time at the river, especially fishing with his Granny, and was an excellent cook, particularly his Italian meals. He always had a way of making everyone he was with laugh, and had a wonderful giving nature. Michael’s greatest joy in life was spending time and playing with his precious daughter, Maddie, whom he dearly loved and cherished with all his heart. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving mother, Cindy Funderburk of New York; his daughter, Madison “Maddie” Funderburk of Hot Springs; his brother, Alton Wayne Funderburk, Jr., and his wife, Diana, of Texarkana, Texas; his sister, Sharon LeeAnn May of Warner Robbins, Georgia; his uncle, Don Funderburk of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his aunt and uncle, Dean and Leo Smith of Amity; the mother of his daughter, Alexis S. Martin of Hot Springs; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Don Lane officiating.
Interment was in the Hick Cemetery, near Murfreesboro.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Angel, Jeremy Butler, Jonathan Long, John Nathaniel Long and Wayne Funderburk, Jr.
