On Tuesday, October 18, Caddo Hills High School announced the 2016-2017 Homecoming Court in a surprise assembly. Royalty and attendees were presented flowers during the ceremony. Homecoming will be on January 6, 2017 with the theme The Wizard of Oz: There’s No Place Like Homecoming.
This year’s Queen is Kayla Torbett, her attendants are Lyla Veazey and Clark McCuin.
“I was really excited. One of my friends turned to me before the announcement and said, ‘you got this.’ I turned to her and said, ‘I don’t think I won.’ Then they said my name and it was just shock. It was so cool,” said Kayla Torbett.
This year’s Princess is Abby West, her attendants are Maddie Henderson and Kasin Morvant. They were voted in by peers and classmates.
“I’m really excited and honored the boys voted for me. I didn’t think I would get it, so I was really excited and happy. I excited to get my dress. I’m wanting to get a style not everyone else has worn,” said Abby West.
This year’s maids are Josie Galloway, Jaci Vines, Ashton Young, Olivia Aguilar, Rylee Jackson, Nallely Lopez, Sammi Workman, Alex Jackson, Nicole Coffman, Rachael Davis, Patsie Egleston, and Jordan Powell. They were also voted in by classmates.
“I was shocked and happy when I found out I was voted into Homecoming,” said Rylee Jackson, 9th grade maid.
“I was excited!” Said 11th grade maid, Nicole Coffman.
“I was really shocked when they called my name,” said Rachael Davis, 11th grade maid.
