Jacquline “Jackie” Marie Funderburg passed unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at her home in Rhome, Texas.

Jackie was born on March 16, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Lawrence and Margaret Shepek.

Jackie was married to the love of her life, Louis “Gene” Funderburg. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 4, 2022.

Jackie was a dedicated wife and mother, and worked as an office manager at Great Northwest Door Company for 20 years.

She selflessly stopped working to help take care of her parents during their health challenges.

After living in Keller for nearly 40 years, they moved to Mineral Springs, Ark., to help care for her father-in-law.

Finally making their way back to Texas, they settled in Rhome, on the same property as her oldest daughter, Jeri. Over the last two years she found a new love for farm life and enjoyed the chickens, goats, and cows.

Jackie loved all things art deco, enjoyed going to gallery nights, and loved to try new recipes. She loved to play dice and computer slot machine games.

She was loved by lifelong friends who referred to her as “Malcom”. She was always smiling, had a contagious laugh and brought joy to those around her.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Funderburg; daughters Jeri (Joe) Liedl and Jami (Leonard) Braxton; grandchildren Chandler (Robert) Davis, Aina (Coye) Willingham, Lindsay (Brandon) Moon, Emily Carlson, Leni and Landri Braxton; great grandchildren Graham and Coye; sister Daryll Howard and brother Robert Shepek and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville, with Bro. Ben Jones officiating, burial to follow at Liberty Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
