Sue Hill, 73, of Centreville, Miss., passed into loving arms on Jan. 11, 2022. 

Funeral arrangements will be held Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, at Centreville Baptist Church with visitation from 12:00-2:00 p.m. and funeral at 2:00 p.m. The funeral will be officiated by Dr. Dennis Johnsey and burial will be held in Oaklawn Cemetery, with Newman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. 

Sue was born Sept. 27, 1948, in Ruston, La., to Richard and Marzelle Lawrence. 

She was retired from Centreville Academy as an Elementary Physical Education Teacher of 20 years. Sue then became a caretaker of her stepfather, Al Tolar, that she considered her father. She was a member of Centreville Baptist Church for close to 50 years where she was a Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher, and for the last 10 years had a great passion for the CBC food pantry. Her most important role was wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother where she instilled Christian values. 

Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Lawrence and Marzelle Tolar; her stepfather, Al Tolar; two sisters, Patricia Ann Lawrence and Charolette Kay Lawrence.  

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jerry Hill; siblings, Richard Lawrence; sister, Mildred Ann Reeves; and Bill Lawrence; children, Ricky Hill and wife Kristi and Debbie Lane and husband Mike; six grandchildren: William Hill and wife Michelle, Devin Lane, Andrew Hill, Colby Lane, Abby Hill, and Landin Lane; and two great-grandchildren, Parker Greer and Myles Hill.  

Pallbearers will be William Hill, Devin Lane, Andrew Hill, Colby Lane, Abby Hill, and Landin Lane.  

She suggested memorial donations should be sent to the Centreville Baptist Church Food Pantry.
