Scrapper senior Darius Hopkins is among the finalists for the annual Farm Bureau Insurance Award for outstanding offensive player in Class 4A.

Hopkins carried the ball 180 times for 2,073 yards and 41 touchdowns, placing him third all-time in the Arkansas Activities Association record book. He is second in school history behind Willie Hopson.

Other Class 4A finalists include Koilan Jackson, Joe T. Robinson; and Connor Reece, Shiloh Christian.

Former Scrapper Coach Billy Dawson, now at Russellville, is one of three nominees for Class7A/6A Coach of the year. He led the Russellville Cyclones to their first state championship in school history under the modern playoff season.

The Farm Bureau awards honor Arkansas’s top offensive player, defensive player and coach of the year for each classification. The staff at Hooten’s Arkansas Football selects three finalists for each category, and those 45 finalists and their families are invited to attend the Farm Bureau Awards in North Little Rock.

Farm Bureau Insurance Executive Vice President and General Manager David L. Moore said, “These 45 finalists represent some of the best coaches and student-athletes in our state. Farm Bureau is proud to honor excellence as the title sponsor of this outstanding event.”
