Chester L. Miller, Jr., age 72, of Oden, passed away December 2, 2016 at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs. He was born March 18, 1944 to the late Chester L. Miller, Sr. and Irene Moore Miller. Chester is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Debra Miller.
Chester attended Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church and served as a Deacon since 1970. He surrendered to preach in May of 2014. Chester and Eva Jean would have been married 54 years on December 8th.
Survivors include: Wife, Eva Jean Miller, Son, Stan (Freda) Miller, Daughters, Robin (Stephen) Fryar, and Rhonda (Bobby) Willborg, Grandchildren, Mesa Miller, Chasiti (Marcus) Brewer, Amber (Ethan) Godwin, Derrick Fryar, Jeb Willborg, and Jayden Willborg, Great-Grandchildren, Skylar Hitchens, Trace Brewer, and Mayli Brewer, Brother, Gary (June) Miller, Sisters, Karon (Don) Burkes, Janice Miller and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, December 4, 2016, 2-4 p.m. at Thornton Funeral Home. Services were Monday, December 5, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church with Arlie Frances and Kyle Cowart of ciating, interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers are Buck Ellison, Brad Hopper, Barry Norman, Tim Philpot, David Ledbetter and Rodney Standridge. Honorary Pallbearers are Ted Abernathy, Steve Abernathy, Bill Abernathy, Don Abernathy, Bob Fryar, Donald Norman, Oden-Pencil Bluff First Responders and Southwest EMS of Mt. Ida.
