Nashville students in grades K-6 to have school supplies on desks for first day of classes on Aug. 15

The Nashville School District will provide school supplies to all students in grades K-6, according to Superintendent Doug Graham.

Nashville Primary and Nashville Elementary will have supplies for each student on his or her desk on the first day of school Aug. 15, Graham said. “They will have a full set the first day.”

Feedback from parents “has been very positive,” Graham said. “I’m proud we could do it.

Principal Shirley Wright and Assistant Principal Terry Young at primary and Principal Latito Williams and Assistant Principal Rick Rebsamen at elementary are preparing the supplies for the students.

Parents will get a preview of the supplies during Meet the Teacher Day Aug. 11, Graham said.

The district provided $50,000 for school supplies, including $30,000 at primary and $20,000 at elementary.
